The
ARPS distinction (Associateship of the
Royal Photographic Society) "is awarded for a high degree of proficiency and the demonstration of a high technical and visual competence in particular categories".
It one of the series of
distinctions offered by the society, and involves the presentation of a panel of 15 pictures in one of a set of pre-defined categories. The submission also includes a
Hanging Plan and a
Statement of Intent, explaining the thinking behind the panel.
I was awarded the ARPS in 2008 within the
Visual Art category.
